In 2006 Ngahina completed a Bachelor of Maori Visual Arts at Massey University, Palmerston North, and is currently studying towards completing a Master of Visual Arts degree from Te Puna Toi, Massey University, Palmerston North.
Over the last ten years she has spent time studying Maori art Whitireia Polytechnic, Te Wananga o Raukawa, Otaki and Awanuiarangi, Whakatane, as well as furthering her artistic skills.
She received the 2007 Te Waka Toi Nga Karahipi award that recognises young emerging Maori artists.
Ngahina is a talented weaver who translates traditional weaving skills and techniques into contemporary art work with materials such as metal and silks allied to traditional fibre to create unique adornment pieces that have been exhibited in national contemporary Maori art group exhibitions.
