Nau Mai Haere Mai - Welcome to Iwi Art & Design

Iwi Art is a family owned and operated company originally established in 1990 as a wholesale dealer in Maori Art, supplying major art galleries and museums throughout New Zealand and the world. We have represented many leading Maori artists over this time, supporting the development of their careers.

Iwi Art has successfully operated several gallery spaces during this time, originally in Rotorua in the 1990's and most recently in Wellington from 2005 to 2011. Our mission has always been to create a space showcasing Maori Art at its highest level where quality, integrity and traditional Maori values are applied.  

After years of operating our physical galleries, Iwi Art is now 100% online with the same mission of providing quality, integrity and traditional Maori vaules. We are striving to become the leaders in high quality Maori made jewellery, objects and design.  

We are committed to supporting the ongoing production of traditional art and design through:

• sensitive selling methods
• appropriate presentation of the objects
• ongoing commitment to the replanting of native trees
• observing Kaitahu kaitiakitanga of pounamu; and
• working closely with and supporting Maori Artists who continue to create and innovate within the styles bequeathed by our ancestors.
